I earned my doctorate from the University of California at Riverside (CA, USA) in 2004. My fields of study include utopian fiction, post-colonial cultural theory, and intersections of literature and science. Currently, my work includes service as lead faculty for curriculum development and assessment of our department's Composition I course and its equivalents. I am married (our 20th anniversary is fast approaching), and I travel throughout America's desert southwest to pursue landscape and nature photography whenever I'm not teaching.
