Dr. Fawzia Ahmad received her Ph.D. in French language and literatures at Boston University in 1996. She currently teaches for two departments at the University of Colorado, Boulder: French and Italian and Women and Gender Studies. Dr. Ahmad has published several articles and a book: “A Study of Land and Milieu in the Early Writings of Algerian-born authors: Albert Camus, Mouloud Feraoun, and Mohammed Dib.” (Edwin Mellen Press: New York, 2005). Her scholarly interests include Francophone literature, feminist thought, and gender in Islam.
